It’s that time of the year when I’d rather look like a baked potato wrapped in 30 layers of clothing than let the cold get to me. It’s also the time of sweater paws, beanies that sit weird on my head, and changes. It’s January 2017.
For most of us, January represents a new beginning, the chance to detach ourselves from the year that has passed and venture into the exciting unknown. It means writing or thinking about resolutions and goals that we strive to achieve, such as getting in shape, eating healthier or spending more time doing what we love, a blank page, a fresh start.
We want this year to be amazing, better than the year before it, and the year before that, and I honestly believe that it’s not as difficult as it sounds. Sure, you will encounter bad days. You will wake up feeling tired, sad, lacking motivation. I’ve been there and you can clearly see that from the number of posts that are posted on my blog (which has been up since July!), but I am still not willing to give up. I am determined to mold my 2017, to make it wonderful, to mark it by as many achievements and happy moments as possible, and you should do that too. I want to be more active on the blog, to exercise more and be able to do 20 pushups, to read at least one book per week and to learn how to save money, among other things. I want to enjoy my last year of high school, to have fun with the people I love and to learn to appreciate everything around me.
This year, I want to grow as a person and become better. What are your goals?
